About John Davidson

I’m a journalist in Inverness in the Highlands of Scotland with a passion for the great outdoors – including walking, cycling and mountaineering.

In my day job I work for Highland News & Media as Content and Commercial Editor, working with the editorial teams across 18 weekly newspapers and associated websites and the HNM app, along with a number of editorial and commercial supplements and tourism publications. I am the editor of the John O’Groat Journal, Caithness Courier and Northern Times, covering Caithness and Sutherland.

I am also a qualified summer Mountain Leader and a member of the Mountain Training Association.

I have written two books of walking and cycling routes around the Highlands and regularly contribute to Scottish Walks & Cycling magazine.

I am also involved in campaigning for better streets for all through calling for a more pedestrian and cycle-friendly environment.
