I enjoyed a great cycle ride on Saturday in the north-west Highlands. Having taken the bike bus from Inverness, I began my ride in Lochinver on a fine and sunny day.
Unfortunately I had forgotten my sun cream, and I have the red (and sore) arms to prove it!
The ride was fantastic, though, heading around the coast to Stoer, Drumbeg and almost to Kylesku before heading back on the ‘main’ roads to Lochinver. It’s a seriously hilly ride and takes a fair bit of stamina to get around it but what a day I enjoyed.
All the wonderful Assynt hills were in full view, from the magnificent Silven to the dramatic Quinag, which this circuit loops around, never far from sight.
