I finally got around to doing this mountain bike route I’ve been planning for some time and it was worth the wait! The route from Blair Atholl to Kincraig (more or less) took more than eight hours and involved probably as much walking as cycling…
Glen Tilt and Glen Feshie are fine mountain bike routes in themselves but I decided to combine them into one big day. This was 40 miles of serious off-road adventure, requiring route-finding, concentration, energy and lots and lots of stamina.
There are some highlights along the way, including the Bedford Bridge at Falls of Tarf – where I met a group riding Braemar to Blair Atholl – the Geldie Burn crossing, Eidart Bridge and the magnificent but troublesome Upper Glen Feshie.
This route will feature in Active Outdoors in the coming weeks but the photos here offer a wee taster of an awe-inspiring mountain biking trip…
