Today was race day in Inverness – and it was a cold and windy one to run 13.1 miles around the city through slushy snow!
My run wasn’t the best I’ve ever run, in fact it was the slowest for that distance! Thankfully I did manage to do it in under two hours, though 1:45 to 1:50 would have been more like my usual level.
Never mind, I can blame the weather on this occasion – even though the truth is probably more like the lack of training contributed to me suffering after seven or eight miles and shuffling around the rest of the course.
Thanks again to all the volunteers, marshalls and organisers. It must have been a cold one stood in the same spot for the duration of the race. At least we could warm up by keeping on running!
Just got the results in – 713th out of 1120 runners. Well done to all!
