That&#8217;s three long years with no Cross to look forward to, so it&#8217;s great that the event will be back this midsummer!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-medium-font-size has-luminous-vivid-orange-color\"><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.justgiving.com\/fundraising\/highlandcross2022\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Please click here to support John in this year&#8217;s Highland Cross<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s also good news for charities in the region who have turned to the Highland Cross to help with their fundraising, including many vehicles and other major investments that are made possible through the usually annual event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year the benefitting charities &#8211; which are decided by an independent panel &#8211; will be:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ccast-highland.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">CCAST Highland<\/a> &#8211; a small independent Christian charity based in Tain serving the Ross shire and Sutherland areas. For a people carrier to help with their work with vulnerable people across the region.<\/li><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.glenurquhartcareproject.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Glenurquhart Care Project<\/a> &#8211; day care centre for older people offering day care, domestic support, befriending, in-house and home-based respite, laundry services, a handyperson service, drop-in lunches and telecare volunteers. For a replacement minibus &#8211; the last one provided through the Highland Cross in 2012 is well used and in need of replacement.<\/li><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/reach4reality.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Reach4Reality<\/a> &#8211; working with autistic young people offering outdoor activity breaks tailored to individual needs. For a nine-seater vehicle to replace current set-up of parents\/volunteers offering lifts in private cars.<\/li><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/theoxygenworks.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Oxygen Works<\/a> &#8211; provides practical, social and emotional support to people from across the north of Scotland, including through oxygen therapy for people with a range of conditions. For support with the purchase and installation of oxygen generation equipment.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Each team of three taking part in the Highland Cross is expected to raise a minimum amount of \u00a3500 &#8211; though the average amount raised per team is much higher than this.
