{"id":5009,"date":"2019-03-16T10:08:14","date_gmt":"2019-03-16T10:08:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bl6.co.uk\/wordpress\/?p=5009"},"modified":"2019-03-17T10:51:21","modified_gmt":"2019-03-17T10:51:21","slug":"a-cold-and-wet-inverness-half-marathon-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bl6.co.uk\/wordpress\/2019\/03\/16\/a-cold-and-wet-inverness-half-marathon-2019\/","title":{"rendered":"A cold and wet Inverness Half Marathon 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Layers of running clothes did little to keep out the icy wind blasting along the course of the Inverness Half Marathon, which took place in the Highland capital on Sunday, March 10.<\/p>\n<p>I don\u2019t think I\u2019ve ever been so cold during a run, even when running in sub-zero temperatures. This was different. It was a couple of degrees above, but the driving rain and strong winds penetrated my three layers \u2013 base layer, T-shirt and jacket \u2013 leaving me cold to the core.<\/p>\n<p>How those setting off in shorts and vests coped for 13.1 miles I\u2019ll never know.<\/p>\n<p>This event is always a good one to start the year with because it gives your winter training some focus. At least that\u2019s the idea.
