This is my ‘local’ Munro, yet Sunday was only the second time I had been on its summit. The first was in a white-out a month or two after we moved to the Highlands.<\/p>\n

The weather couldn’t have been better this time, as we could see for miles across the whole of north-west Scotland. It’s incredible when you see the land laid out like that – all the connections between the glens and ridges suddenly seem to make sense.<\/p>\n

I had planned this walk, which will feature in my forthcoming book Walking and Cycling in Inverness and the Highlands<\/a><\/em>, for some time as an alternative to the stomp via An Cabar. It’s a longer, tougher route but I hope readers will enjoy it!<\/p>\n

The video below shows the view as we arrived at the bealach between Tom a’ Choinnich and Glas Leathachd Beag, Ben Wyvis’s rarely visited secondary summit.<\/p>\n
