The first was in a white-out a month or two after we moved to the Highlands.<\/p>\n<p>The weather couldn&#8217;t have been better this time, as we could see for miles across the whole of north-west Scotland. It&#8217;s incredible when you see the land laid out like that &#8211; all the connections between the glens and ridges suddenly seem to make sense.<\/p>\n<p>I had planned this walk, which will feature in my forthcoming book <em><a href=\"http:\/\/bl6.co.uk\/wordpress\/outdoors\/books\/\">Walking and Cycling in Inverness and the Highlands<\/a><\/em>, for some time as an alternative to the stomp via An Cabar.
