Partly as a consequence of entering this year&#8217;s Highland Cross and partly inspired by Susie Allison&#8217;s book on Scottish Trail Running, I&#8217;ve been doing a lot more off-road running recently. <\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s so much nicer to be able to get onto great trails rather than just pounding pavements all the time. <\/p>\n<p>This weekend I&#8217;m down in the Borders and last night enjoyed a superb 7-mile run using parts of the Borders Abbey Way and St Cuthbert&#8217;s Way. The beautiful sunset helped, with views in the photo to the Eildon hills and Peniel Heugh.<\/p>\n<p>The rain is pouring down today but planning a longer run as part of my training and as it&#8217;s the penultimate day of the 5&#215;50 Challenge. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I think I might have found a new favourite pastime&#8230; trail running.
