Within 25 minutes of leaving home I was approaching Dores looking down over the length of Loch Ness on a beautiful clear evening.<\/p>\n<p>People travel here from all across the world to see this sight, and it&#8217;s well worth it, but it&#8217;s right here on our doorstep!<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><br \/>\nIt looks like work has started on the Inverness-Dores cycle route that will make up part of NCN R78, as well.<\/p>\n<p>From Dores I headed up the steep hill on the B862 then headed left towards the Loch Ruthven Nature Reserve, across the causeway across Loch Duntelchaig. I was following the Cycle 10 out of my book, one of my favourite local rides and perfect for a summer evening (although it&#8217;s only spring and it did manage to snow last night while I was out!).<\/p>\n<p>Loch Ruthven is beautiful and the roads here are very quiet.
