two fine Munros in the Fannichs made a superb winter outing on Saturday. Peter and I had seen the ridge leading up Sgurr nan Clach Geala on a previous outing in these hills with Meg a few years back, and it looked dramatic enough in summer.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>With its winter coat on, it looked even more adventurous, when we eventually got a view of it. The cloud cover meant there wasn&#8217;t much to see from the tops, but it did briefly clear as we got onto the narrow ridge.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Where&#8217;s the rope?&#8221; Peter quipped as he caught up with me, waiting on the ridge with my crampons on. I admit to being a bit nervous looking at the gaping drop down into Coire Mor below some mighty crags, and the steep slopes sliding away on the other side.<\/p>\n<p>But once we were on our way I just got a rush of adrenaline and thoroughly enjoyed following the ridge line through the crags and we came upon the summit sooner than expected.<\/p>\n<p>From here we just had to be careful near the edges and we descended to the bealach then up Sgurr nan Each, returning the the bealach for a soggy descent to the Right of Way back to Loch a&#8217; Bhroin near the start of our walk.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>These two fine Munros in the Fannichs made a superb winter outing on Saturday.
