Today I got back from an overnight trip to Glen Dessarry in Knoydart, where Peter Evans and I went to climb three rather remote Munros on the edge of the rough bounds of Knoydart.

In the kayak at Dochgarroch

Here’s a quick snap of me this evening at the Paddlesport Open Evening at Dochgarroch, which was organised by Explore Highland and a few other local paddle sport companies.

Had a great time on the water again – but couldn’t convince Meg to give it a go!

Fam out at Skelbo!

On Sunday we had a nice family day out at Skelbo Forest near Dornoch, where there’s a great little walk – around a mile-and-a-half – through the trees and around a little burn.

I’d seen this one signposted off the A9 loads when driving (or occasionally cycling) past, and wondered what was here. It’s actually a really interesting little forest with loads of unusual carvings and great paths.

Lochinver cycle – using the Highland Bike Bus


I enjoyed a great cycle ride on Saturday in the north-west Highlands. Having taken the bike bus from Inverness, I began my ride in Lochinver on a fine and sunny day.
